Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information KarenFerrero.com (“the site,” “I,” “me”) collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Karen Ferrero. Questions? Email karen@karenferrero.com.

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you use the contact or speaking inquiry forms, I receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to share (such as your organization, event details, and message). When you join my newsletter, I collect your email address and, optionally, your first name.
Booking information. If you schedule a call, Calendly collects the details you enter (such as your name, email, and answers to booking questions) under Calendly’s privacy policy.
Usage information. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, approximate location (city/country), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. I use this only in aggregate to understand which content is helpful.
Server logs. Like most websites, my hosting provider (GoDaddy) automatically records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.

How I use your information

To reply to your message, inquiry, or booking
To send the newsletter and free resources you requested
To understand and improve the site (only with your consent for analytics)
To protect the site against spam, abuse, and security threats

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. I don’t use it for purposes you haven’t asked for.

Service providers

I use a small number of trusted providers to run the site: GoDaddy (website hosting and email), Mailchimp by Intuit (newsletter), Calendly (scheduling), and, only if you consent, Google Analytics (site statistics). Each processes information according to its own privacy policy. LinkedIn links take you to LinkedIn, which has its own policy.

Cookies

The site itself doesn’t require cookies to work. It stores two small preferences in your browser: your light/dark mode choice and your cookie choice. Analytics cookies from Google are set only if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer, or by clearing your browser’s cookies and site data. The Calendly booking calendar may set its own cookies when you use it.

Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email me to be removed.

How long I keep information

I keep messages and inquiries only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable business records. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to my Google Analytics settings (no longer than 14 months).

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email karen@karenferrero.com. I’ll respond within the time required by law. I won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Where I rely on your consent (for example, analytics or the newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time.

Security

The site uses HTTPS encryption, and forms include spam protection. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

International visitors

The site is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top shows when it last changed.
